Pariyakorn Ratanasuban (Madame Oh) is the second generation who is the first Muaythai and boxing female promoter of Thailand and the world. She is as known as “Little Songchai” We come to know her better in our TV program in ” Someone Special (May 26, 2014)<\/p>\n
Madame Oh start explaining her nick name, start from press asked her that she is so much like her father, the way look and communicate, please travel with her father throughout the world with her father as well, Also as the youngest daughter, which little Songchai is very much appropriate. She never think of coming to help her father boxing business. Follow her father at work till 1 am. and her father still continue to watch fights on tapes over and over to evaluate the fight, and plan for future fights. As this fight, what is the mistake, He has a brilliant eyes to see to make star from soil. He is determine and punctilious. Every fights has been done carefully and very difficult and so tiresome, but as it is luck or fluke, but we have always plan.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur family started from zero, we lost money in many promotions, but we will not lower our quality. As my father do it with heart, and devote his end of life with Muaythai and boxing.\u201d Madame Oh mentioned about her father.<\/p>\n
As a promoter duty, Madame oh disclosed that as a boxing promoter, it is not as easy as just looking at weights, and height, it is detailed to look into how each boxers been trained and when matched, is it even fairly match or not. As OneSongchai focus on this point and it is up to each promoter who has vision differently, how each promoters plan, as for marketing, public relations or event advertising. The program will be successful as up to the meticulous skills of matchmaking promoter. It is more important to see good entertain fight and visit gym to see how boxers train. Must be 100% to create good fights.<\/p>\n
As asking about Muaythai industry, Madame Oh sees the change. female boxers have become more smart, fighter, and because female boxers do not want to get hurt and must accept that gambling has always involved. Sometimes there is no fight in round 5 because the gambler already knows who is winning.<\/p>\n
\u201cTalking about Muaythai at a moment, which is so successful more than my father has dream. In 1989, which is the golden period of Muaythai, my father used to closed the stadium so full and cannot accept anymore audiences. Over 12,000 audiences are packed. As time fly, we see more free television for people to have more choice to see the fights, my father begin to push our muaythai boxer to become world boxing champions. My father has been a pioneer to live televise the show back to Thailand from Holland, France, Morocco, Italy, Italy and etc. We lost money every programs, but it is not the right time. Madame Oh thinks that it is not the right period however, now everyone knows Muaythai, We started and my father used to be a boxer, he tried to earn living by fighting to feed family. He understands everything about Muaythai. I am so proud of him.<\/p>\n
Madame oh talked about how to take care boxers that presently we try to teach boxers to learn about their lives, it is not important bout their education, but they must learn to save money, and plan their life when they quit Muaythai. Personally, she thinks that education is not important as each one must learn how to survive, and plan well with life.<\/p>\n
Madame Oh accept that when she was young she does not love Muaythai, but when her older brother and older sister went to study overseas, so she plans to come help family business. Her father and mother never ask her to join the family business, As she love to be solitude, but it is her duty and responsibilities and love to work. As at night, she does not want to sleep, her heart beat fast and want to work and stay awake, as she is a female, so want to promote female boxers. To represent Thailand for being female promoter who can speak English and which is very proud and one day, we created world champion to make our generation and Thailand proud.\u201cSo tired of Muaythai, each fights must work very hard, and now it is time that we have connection to make Muaythai equipment. As we see demand that Muaythai is growing worldwide. And audiences always come support OneSongchai.\u201d<\/p>\n
When asking for why OneSongchai promotion is full everythime, Madame Oh critically think that it is because we do not have our own gym, we are honest to the audiences, we do not gamble, and we are known as pay the most for the boxers so they will fight their best. These boxers are dream of their family and hometown who expect that will start to be local champion, before coming to OneSongchai and see how to develop a human as a boxer.<\/p>\n
As for the income, if it is televise on TV, it will come from sponsors. If promote big event that no television such as program in Rajdamnern or Lumpini, the only income from audiences tickets. So it is hard to make profit from promoting at a moment as audiences have been decreased.<\/p>\n
As for selecting the boxer, her father always go to the other province to search for whit elephant. And now we have team to do so. The local champion who come fight in OneSongchai will be like another important step of their lives. Now Muaythai has been spread and new generations see Muaythai as self defense, lose weight, exercise, and it is good for Muaythai to see many more aspects.<\/p>\n
\u201c5 years ago nobody can beat Muaythai in Thailand, now globalization change and foreigner boxers improve a lot and with their good training, good discipline, sport sciences and loving for muaythai making foreigners are top and improving.\u201d<\/p>\n
As asking about Muaythai industry in Thailand, Madame Oh think it is not easy because all promoters do not work together. Every group do it for their own benefits, not giving in to help the industry. Madame Oh think that boxer quality of life must come first, an boxers must have good life, It is not the education in class. Boxers must learn about life in and ouside the ring well.<\/p>\n
